Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” – Lk 12:12
God is not only theoretical; He is also practical. Jesus told His disciples they would be put on trial and have to defend their faith; but they wouldn’t have to worry, because the Holy Spirit would teach them exactly what to say, in that very hour.
The Holy Spirit is a practical Teacher. He will lead and guide you to make wise decisions, in your moment of need! When you were saved, God didn’t just fill you with theological knowledge, and then encourage you to make your own choices. He filled you with His Spirit, and then invited you to lean on Him at every moment: for every decision, no matter how big or how small!
Let the Holy Spirit teach you. When you are in a conversation, ask Him what to say. When you have a tough decision, ask Him what to do! He will teach you, if you let Him.
Prayer:
Father, help me to rely on Your Holy Spirit for every decision in my life: no matter how big or how small! I want to rely on Your Holy Spirit like never before. Thank You that I don’t have to make any choices without input from the throne room of Heaven!
