Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.” – Lk 10:16
How many times has fear of rejection prevented you from sharing the Gospel? If you’re like me, the answer is too many. At the end of the day, Jesus promises you don’t have to be afraid. You don’t have to worry about being rejected or received, because it’s not about you; it’s about Him.
Here is what Jesus promises whenever you share the Gospel:
- When you speak, the listener will hear Him
- If you are rejected, don’t take it personally; they are not rejecting you, they are rejecting Him
Boldly preach the Gospel! Tell your friends, family, and co-workers how much Jesus loves them. Don’t allow fear of rejection to hold you back from sharing the Good News any more. Jesus died for the sin of the world; and there is a world around us that needs to know it!
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? – Ps 118:6
Prayer:
Father, I rebuke the fear of rejection right now in Jesus’ name! I am not going to be afraid anymore. Fill me with boldness to share Your love, and to preach Your word, in Jesus’ name!
