Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. – Lk 10:1
God sends us; and then He follows. Jesus sent His disciples “into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.” That means if He sends you somewhere – a family, a city, or a nation – He wants you to prepare the way for Him! Wherever He sends you, He will show up! Our words, and our prayers, will be followed by tangible manifestations of His glory.
Jesus sent His disciples “before His face.” That means that as He sent them, He was watching out for them. He was praying for them. He was taking note of what they were up to, so He could confirm their speech with signs, miracles and wonders:
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. – Mk 16:20
Jesus will never leave you hanging! If He sends you somewhere, He is right on your heels.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for never leaving me high and dry. Help me to preach with boldness, knowing that wherever You send me, You will show up!
