Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
These are those who were numbered of the children of Israel: six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty. – Num 26:51
The people of Israel had moved a lot! But they hadn’t grown. When Moses first counted God’s people in Numbers 1:46, they were 603,550. In Numbers 26, thirty-eight years later, they were 601,730! They hadn’t increased; in fact, they had decreased!
Movement does not guarantee growth; only obedience does. Don’t you want to grow stronger as you get older? Don’t you want to grow as you go? Learn to listen to God, and you will be strengthened in every way!
Prayer:
Father, I don’t want to always be in motion; I really want to grow! I pray I would never be satisfied unless I am growing and being strengthened in You, in Jesus’ name!
