Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “Command the children of Israel that they bring to you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to make the lamps burn continually.” – Lev 24:1-2
Aaron kept the lamps burning; but the people brought the oil! Do you show up to church hungry and ready to worship? Or do you come with a blasé attitude, willing to settle for whatever is served?
Church was never meant to be a show. Church-goers should be participants, not just consumers! A pastor’s job is to keep the lamps burning: to diligently direct the faith and resources of a church in a coordinated, intentional manner. The people’s job – not the pastor’s – is to bring the oil!
Do you want anointed worship at your church that exceeds your wildest expectations? Bring the oil! Do you want to experience the presence of God so heavily that you can’t even stand? Bring the oil! Do you want to see every guest in your church saved, healed and delivered? Bring the oil! When you come hungry and ready to worship, miracles will happen!
Prayer:
Father, thank You for an endless supply of the anointing over my life. I am going to bring the oil: not only on Sunday morning, but every single place I go!
