Commentary from Pastor Mike White:

For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. – Ps 33:9

I love moments when God reminds us of just how simple our relationship with Him is supposed to be. Back to basics: if He says it, it is done. If God has made a promise, it will happen. In Jesus’ name, we have the authority to walk into places and situations that need a touch from heaven, and declare God’s word over them. As we speak His word, creation will take shape to align with God’s promise, just as it did when God spoke the world into existence.

Romans 8:19 says that, “…the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.” Romans 8:22 says, “…creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.” All of creation groans because creation wants to be loosed to take the shape God originally intended for it. Our words – in His image – are required for creation to be redeemed and set free.

Creation is waiting for all of us to step into our role as God’s children. Bodies will align with His word and become healed when His word becomes our word. Winds will calm in the middle of any storm as we echo the posture of Jesus asleep in the boat. Creation groans because we, the body of Christ, have yet to step into our potential.

When we speak His words, it is done.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the power of Your word. Help me to meditate on it day and night. Help me to plead the blood of Jesus over every situation in my life that needs a touch from heaven. If You said it, it is DONE!
