Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then the ark rested in the seventh month…And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen. – Gen 8:4-5
God is always working. Even when you don’t see Him, and even when you don’t feel Him, He is moving for your benefit. God remembered Noah (v 1) and stopped up the windows of Heaven (v 2); but multiple months went by before Noah saw the results of God’s faithfulness. Noah did not lose faith. Even thought the waters were still churning around him, he trusted in God’s promise!
The waters receded continually but gradually. Change doesn’t always happen overnight; but God is always working. God will use His timeline – not yours – when performing miracles, signs and wonders.
Daniel learned this truth first-hand. He cried out to God, but saw no answer to his prayers for twenty-one days. But when God’s messenger arrived, His faithfulness became clear: “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words” (Dan 10:12).
God has heard your prayers. If you haven’t gotten an answer yet, the answer is on the way. Know that God is working continually, even when it feels like gradually is taking too long!
Prayer:
Father, I submit to Your supernatural timeline for my life. I know sometimes the answer to my prayer takes some time. I am willing to wait for Your perfect will, in Jesus’ name!
