Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.” – Rev. 12:10

Scripture calls Satan “the accuser of [the] brethren.” Satan’s idea of fun was accusing you before God day and night! But now he has been “cast down.” He doesn’t have access to God’s ear anymore. But since he no longer has an audience with God, he goes straight to you.

Voices of accusation are not of God. That whisper that you hear saying you’re not good enough, you’ll never make it to Heaven, you’re not worthy of salvation: that is Satan! His role is to accuse. And your role is to cast him out of your life. Tell him to leave, and remind him he has no authority over your life or your thoughts, in Jesus’ name!

Now there is such a thing as holy conviction. God will let you know when you are doing something that doesn’t align with His will. But He will never do so in a way that attacks your character. And He will always do so in a way that leaves you more sure of your salvation when you return to Him, and never less.

Receive conviction; reject accusation. Receive the voice of God; reject the accuser of the brethren! God wants you to know that you are loved in Jesus’ name.

Prayer:

Father, help me to discern between Your voice and the voice of the enemy. Teach me what Your voice sounds like! I accept Your holy, healthy conviction. I reject Satan’s unholy, shameful accusations. I admit I am far from perfect! But Jesus was perfect; and in Him I am more than enough.
