Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.” – Hab 2:2
Casting vision takes time. In order to fulfill God’s instructions to “write the vision…on tablets,” Habakkuk would have to painstakingly carve God’s vision into tablets of stone. He would use that time to meditate on God’s words and contemplate His faithfulness. His time investment would show that he truly valued what God had said, and believed with all his heart that God’s word was true!
When God speaks, do you value His word? Do you treasure everything He says? Do you take the time to write it down, and meditate on it? Or do you let His word come and go, without seizing it as your own?
Prayer:
Father, I want to treasure Your Word. There is nothing more important to me than hearing what You have to say! Speak to me, in Jesus’ name
