Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” – Rev 4:1
The door to heaven was “standing open.” What an amazing sight! John didn’t have to beg to come in. He didn’t even have to ask to come in. The door to heaven was not closed; it was open! Because John knew Jesus, all he had to do was walk in, because he had the righteousness of Christ!
Jesus is the way to Heaven. When you give your life to Him, the door to heaven is “standing open,” ready to receive you.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. – Rev 3:20
Prayer:
Father, thank You for sending Jesus to open the door to heaven! Thank You that His death means I have open and easy access to the throne of grace, in Jesus’ name.
