Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“I have also spoken by the prophets, and have multiplied visions; I have given symbols through the witness of the prophets.” – Hosea 12:10

God speaks through His prophets. He multiplies visions through His prophets, and gives them symbols to interpret for the benefit of His people.

This has two applications for us. First, we should honor the prophetic people He sends to speak into our lives. Do you have prophetic people speaking into your life? The people of Israel did; they just didn’t know it. Whom has God sent to speak into you? Sometimes we reject prophetic people because they are “weird.” Often we don’t receive what they have to say about our lives because it’s tough to admit it might be true. But God will send people to speak into your life! Are you ready to listen?

Second, we should live prophetic lifestyles. Did you know that all New Testament Christians are called to prophesy? John the Baptist was the greatest prophet to walk the earth except for Jesus; but Jesus reminded His disciples that, “…he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than [John the Baptist]” (Lk 7:28). You have the Holy Spirit in you; and that make you prophetic!

Father, help me never to neglect prophecy. Thank You for sending prophetic people to speak into my life. Remind me to listen!
