Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. – James 2:18
So you have faith! The question now is: what are you going to do with it?
Faith looks like something. Faith means setting up your life as if the promise of God will unfold. Faith means buying the crib even if your doctor says you won’t have a baby. Faith means writing the book even if your critics say you won’t sell a copy. Faith means starting the ministry even if your doubters say it won’t make a difference.
If your belief doesn’t translate into action, is it really faith at all?
I do not believe it is enough for Christians to gather information and understand new facts – or even think differently about the supernatural in Scripture – if it does not affect how they live. — John Wimber, Power Evangelism
Prayer:
Father, give me genuine faith! I want to demonstrate my faith through action. Make me bold in my response to Your word, in Jesus’ name!
