Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt. Speak, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God…’” – Ezek. 29:1-3a
God needed Ezekiel to “prophesy against” His enemies. God used a human participant – a prophetic voice – to speak His will for the earth into existence so the plans of the enemy could be canceled.. Typically we think of prophesy as language that encourages and exhorts God’s people. But here we see another use: prophecy shuts down the enemies of God.
What has God called you to “prophesy against?” At the time of this writing, coronavirus cases are on the rise all over the world and news outlets are reporting that a “second wave” is coming. Are you willing to stand up and “prophesy against” this virus that is an enemy of God?
God’s enemies change with the season, but the manner in which we are called to deal with them is always the same. You have a voice! Use it. Prophesy against the works of the devil, and watch his plans fall apart in Jesus’ name!
Prayer:
Father, You can have my voice. Whatever You want me to say, I will say! Whatever You want me to prophesy, I will release. Thank You for trusting me to deliver Your message to the enemy. His plans will be canceled, and Your plans will succeed, in Jesus’ name!
