Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders; they did not remember the multitude of Your mercies, but rebelled by the sea–the Red Sea. Nevertheless He saved them for His name’s sake, that He might make His mighty power known. – Ps 106:7-8
We often forget how good God is! We don’t “understand His wonders:” when He is moving right in front of us, we often miss it. We fail to “remember the multitude of His mercies:” we forget how good He has been to us, even in the recent past! We “rebel:” running away from the call of God on our life, instead of running towards it!
Nevertheless, He saved us. He saves us despite our doubts. He saves us despite our fears! He saves us in spite our apathy, and even in in the times we flat-out rebel!
God is still good; and He still wants to save you. If you don’t know Him: pray the prayer below and receive Him into your life. If you do know Him: ask Him to save you from whatever you are going through, and watch His presence come rushing into your life!
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your goodness. You are so good to me, and I am so grateful! I am far from perfect; but Jesus lived a perfect life for me. I receive the gift of salvation, and I believe in the finished work of the Cross! You are mighty to save, in Jesus’ name.
