Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the River Chebar, that the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God. – Ezek 1:1
“It came to pass…that the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.” Ezekiel didn’t try to have a vision. He wasn’t doing everything he could to impress God. He was simply available; and the vision came to pass.
Do you want to have visions of God? Do you want to dream godly dreams? Make yourself available. Ezekiel was in the midst of captivity; yet he positioned himself to hear from God. He didn’t get frustrated and angry because God had been silent for a while; he just kept listening!
God doesn’t always speak when you want Him to. He speaks when He wants to! And that is good.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for dreams and visions. Thank You for supernatural encounters!
