Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Thus says the Lord: “Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and there speak this word, and say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, O king of Judah, you who sit on the throne of David, you and your servants and your people who enter these gates!’” – Jer. 22:1-2
God asked Jeremiah to speak boldly. He sent him into the presence of the king to declare the word of God without fear! And whatever God asked, Jeremiah did. Wherever God told Jeremiah to go, he went! Jeremiah was mocked, threatened, and imprisoned for saying what God told him to say; but in all his persecution he never wavered. He stayed perfectly obedient to God.
What is God asking you to say that might be unpopular? To whom is God asking you to speak who needs to hear the Gospel? Are you willing to go, even when you don’t want to? Are you willing to go, even if it might mean people make fun of you? Are you willing to go, even if it might cost you your life?
Prayer:
Father, make me willing to go! Lord, won’t You fill me with supernatural boldness to say what You have called me to say, do what You have called me to do, and go where You have called me to go? I will say “yes” and “amen” to whatever You want me to do, in Jesus’ name.
