Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. – Is 60:2
The world is a crazy place! Security and safety are things of the past. Privacy no longer exists. The Middle East is on fire with conflict, and the United States is embroiled in social and political turmoil. This is the darkness God told us “shall cover the earth, and deep darkness [shall cover] the people.”
But do not fear! The Lord will arise over you. His glory will be seen upon you! No matter how bad things get, God’s promise is He will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb 13:5). In fact, He will turn you into a testimony, and the rest of the world will take notice!
The darker the world gets, the brighter Jesus will shine in you.
Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. – Is 60:1
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the light of Christ. I pray that the darker it gets, the brighter the love and light of Jesus would shine through me! I will not fear, nor be afraid; because You are with me, in Jesus name!
