Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. – 2 Cor 4:7
You are an earthen vessel. You are sturdy; but if you are under too much stress, you can crack! Sure, you’ve made some mistakes; but God made you imperfect on purpose. If you were perfect, you wouldn’t need Him; but because you’re not, you do!
God never expected you to be perfect. He does, however, invite you to lean on His perfection. Don’t put more pressure on yourself than God puts on you. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and lean on His Holy Spirit for strength like never before!
Prayer:
Father, thank You! I am far from perfect; but Christ is perfect in me. I am an earthen vessel, and Your treasure has been deposited in me!
