Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, for You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities… – Ps 31:7
God knows us, even in adversity. “Know” is the Hebrew yada (Strong’s H3045), which means to be intimately acquainted through experience. No matter what you are going through, God will never turn His back on you – even in adversity. He will never leave you nor forsake you – even if you are struggling with the most grievous sin, or intense doubt. His arms are always open, and He is always listening to your prayers!
God hates sin, but loves sinners. He knows the worst things you’ve ever done, and He loves you all the same! There is nothing you can do to scare God away. Turn to Him, and He will always be there.
Prayer:
Father, thank You that You know my faults and love me anyway! I know that because I trust in Jesus, when you look at me You don’t see my sin; You see Your Son. I am hidden in Him, and You love me!
