Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And now, O Lord God of Israel, let Your word come true, which You have spoken to Your servant David. – 2 Chron 6:17
Solomon had to agree with God’s word. The promise was given as potential; but Solomon’s agreement turned it into power!
God made Solomon some amazing promises:
“…wisdom and knowledge are granted to you; and I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings have had who were before you, nor shall any after you have the like.” – 2 Chron 1:12
But Solomon knew he had a role to play in the process. He prayed to God: “Let Your word come true.” Solomon knew that if he did not actively agree with God’s promises, they would fall to the ground unfulfilled; but if he made the decision to agree with God’s word through declarative prayer, every single one of His promises would come to pass!
What has God promised you? Are you willing to agree with His word, and let it come to pass?
Prayer:
Father, I agree with Your word! Help me to get out of my own way. If I am hindering any part of Your promises over my life, reveal it and I will move, in Jesus’ name!
