Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. – Rom 5:8
Jesus didn’t wait until we were perfect to save us. He died for us while we were still sinners! You don’t need to get clean to come to God; it is the blood of Jesus that cleanses you. You don’t need to work on yourself before coming to God; it is He alone who can work in you!
God knows you’re not perfect; but He’ll meet you right where you are. Open your heart and receive His love, just the way you are! Salvation is a gift that repairs every broken thing in your life; and all you have to do is receive it.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for rescuing me from my sin! Thank You for demonstrating Your perfect love toward me, and dying for me while I was still far from perfect. I receive Your supernatural perfection, in Jesus’ name.
