CityLight Pastor Commentary:
“But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head” (Ps 3:3). David noted an interesting phenomenon: as his favor and sphere if influence increased, so did the number of his enemies! He constantly reminded himself that he had not gained or earned anything in life by his own hand and through his own efforts; but rather God had given everything to him freely! God is our shield. He is the One who not only protects us, but also promotes us! When we make Him our shield and our strength at every stage of our lives, we can live in full confidence that our future will always be better than our past!
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your protection and provision! Keep me humbly reliant on You. I will bless Your Holy Name for everything that transpires in my life, knowing that You are My Provider!
