Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done, except that the high places were not removed; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. – 2 Kings 15:3-4
Azariah loved God well. He did what God asked! He “…did what was right in the sight of the Lord” (v 3), “except that” he failed to remove the high places for pagan worship. Azariah did well! But he had an “except.”
What is your “except?” What is the one thing in your life that is keeping you from fully saying “yes” to God? What are you unwilling to step out and do, even though God is asking you to?
Are you ready to serve God without exception? Don’t you want to be remembered as someone who did everything God asked you to do? It’s time to leave “except” behind. It’s time to serve God with no exceptions!
Prayer:
Father, I love You without exception. I pray my obedience would be without exception: that I would do everything You ask me to do, all of my days, in Jesus’ name! I want to be remembered as someone who said yes and amen to God, without exception!
