Commentary from Pastor Mike White:

And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong… – Acts 3:16

There is infinite power in the name Jesus Christ. Peter was not afraid to take a step out in faith, and offer God’s healing to a man who had been crippled from birth. Wasn’t Peter afraid? What if nothing happened when he prayed?

The name Jesus Christ gave Peter all the confidence he needed. He commanded the man, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk” (v 6). He acted on his faith in Jesus by lifting the man up: and the man rose up and walked!

Jesus heals. When Jesus ascended to Heaven, He left us with power of attorney. When we pray in the name of Jesus, our prayers carry the same weight as if Jesus prayed them Himself! Using the name Jesus Christ is the most powerful thing we can do in prayer. Do not forget to use His name!

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. – Phil 2:9-11

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the power in the name of Jesus. Every sickness and sin must bow to the name Jesus. Even death must bow to His name! Help me to pray in His name at all times!
