Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Now the Philistines gathered their armies together to battle, and were gathered together at Sochoh, which belongs to Judah… – 1 Sam 17:1
Sochoh “belongs” to Judah. God gave it to His people. The Philistines were camped there, but the land didn’t belong to the Philistines; it belonged to Judah. The enemy was occupying God’s territory; and all Judah had to do was take back what was rightfully theirs.
Your life belongs to God. He gave it to you as a gift. The enemy might be camped there, but your life doesn’t belong to him; it belongs to you! All you have to do is take back what is rightfully yours, in the name of Jesus!
Where is the enemy trying to camp out in your life? Are you willing to put your foot down and tell him to leave, in Jesus’ name?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for giving me an inheritance. Thank You that this life is a gift! Help me to kick the enemy out of every square inch, in Jesus’ name.
