Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. – Jn. 5:4

Healing happened at the Pool of Bethesda because an angel, “…stirred up the water.” Whoever stepped in to the angelic activity first was healed, no matter what disease he or she had!

There is angelic activity all around you. Hebrews 1 says that angels are, “…ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation” (v 14). God will send angels to stir up the things of Heaven on earth so that people will be ready to hear the Gospel. In Matthew 4, “…angels came and ministered to [Jesus]” (v. 11); and then miracles happened everywhere Jesus went. At the Pool of Bethesda, an angel caused healing to take place, so that people would be ready to receive Jesus as the Healer when He came!

Angels are real; and they are active in your life! Ask God to increase the angelic activity around you, and in front of you, so that signs miracles and wonders will happen everywhere you go!

Prayer:

Lord, I thank You for Your ministering angels. I thank You that they are dispatched to places before I arrive so that people will be ready to receive the Gospel when I come. I thank You that they protect me; and I thank You that they cause healing to take place! Open my eyes to the reality that angelic activity is happening all around me, all the time, in Jesus’ name.
