Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!”- Jn 4:50-51
Healing happened when Jesus spoke; but this man had to believe the word to receive the healing God’s word promised.
When God’s word is spoken over a sick body, the potential is there for that body to be raised back to life. Psalm 107:20 reveals the healing power inherent in God’s word: “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” When God’s word is paired with faith, the supernatural comes to life!
Potential comes in the form of God’s word; but that potential is only activated when you make a decision to believe His word, and receive it for your own life! There are things God wants to do for you that will only happen when you believe. Jesus is who He says He is; and He will do what He has said He will do!
Prayer:
Father, help me to believe Your word with my whole heart! I know the promises in Your word are activated in my own life when I believe. Help me to believe, in Jesus’ name!
