Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing… – Ps 92:13-14
When you are planted and grow roots in the local church, you will flourish. When you are engaged in genuine community with like-minded believers around you, your fruitfulness will not be short-lived. You will be fresh and flourishing, and continue to bear good fruit, even in old age!
When we are alone, we fail; but when we are planted in community, we flourish!
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. – Heb 10:24-25
Prayer:
Father, I pray that You would surround me with good Christian friends who feel like family. I know that if I am alone, I will wither; but when I am surrounded by my church community, I will flourish!
