So the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance. – Josh 16:4
Every brother’s territory was well-defined. Every brother was asked to respect the territory of his brothers. Moses did not allow any of the tribes of Israel to selfishly demand more land at the expense of his brothers.
Too often, we want it all. We step over boundaries God would have us keep. Instead of celebrating with our brothers for the land God has given them, we get jealous and wish we could have it for ourselves!
There is no room for selfishness in the kingdom of God. When your brother reaches his promised land, celebrate with him! Then, freely invite him to share in the spoils of yours.
Prayer:
Father, everything I have is from Your hand. Help me to be selfless with the possessions You have given me. Freely I have received, and freely I shall give!
