Commentary from Pastor Mike White:

And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?” So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” – Josh 5:13-14

Joshua was ready to lead the people of Israel into Jericho. He soon learned, however, that he would not have to do it alone. The Angel of the Lord Himself came to lead God’s people into the Promised Land.

Let God fight your battles for you. Salvation is a gift (Eph 2:8); that means we don’t have to earn it. Jesus arrived, in Person, to lead Israel into Canaan. In the same way, He will make Himself known as Lord over your life when you give Him the opportunity.

Let God do the heavy lifting. Give Him control over everything in your life, and watch what He is willing to do for you!

Prayer:

Father, I give You full control of everything in my life. I know I can’t manufacture success, no matter how hard I try. Everything I have is Yours; I give You full authority to lead me into the promise!
